About this deal

Here's the thing, first it's non woven, 2nd it's made out of polypropylene, which is the most hydrophobic fiber out there that is commonly used for clothing/attire. if you find a place that will ship in 4 or 5 days you could check the forecast and see how cold it was going to be! I have plenty of Gore-Tex® outdoor gear, but it tends to make me overheat when I’m performing any physical exercise other than walking. Are we talking big enough to fit a pack underneath without the pants being so big that I can't keep 'em on?

They offer a one year limited warranty against defects in manufacturing and workmanship, but any use and abuse is on you. My son has used a Frogg Togg poncho on 1000 miles of the AT in a rainy Spring, and on the Caminos when needed. If you’re constantly hiking with heavy loads in lots of rain, you may want a jacket that breathes better and is more durable. It won’t fit in any pocket well, even a cargo-shorts pocket unless you remove it from the pouch and roll it up. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .It wasn’t until the wind suddenly stopped that I knew I was about to be rained on, so I dropped my pack and put on the Frogg Toggs Ultra-Lite2 Jacket.

It does have two toggles at the neck area to cinch it tight around the head, but no visor for increased protection.

Any poncho or rain jacket can be rigged up as full or partial UQP to keep the rain/wind off in a pinch. I split open the front and added a waterproof zipper, sewed up the sides a little narrower (it’s enormously wide! The main problem for her was that sometimes there would be a non-trivial puddle of water that had collected in the pack cover part of the poncho.

As horizontal rain started blowing in under the tarp, I quickly shoved my pack, containing most of my gear, under the poncho hanging over the hammock. I don't mind using it as my primary since i often use a rather small pack and don't do a lot of "bushwacking". I make sure my pack has a cover and all my pack contents are in drysacks so I've never had a problem with gear getting wet.

It's not open at all on the sides - there are slots on the sides to poke your arms out, but your arms would get pretty wet if you used poles. I didn’t encounter any rain on last week’s trip so did not have a chance to use the poncho, but am thinking about making it my default UL rain wear top; in combination with a belt and an MLD rain skirt I will look positively dashing on the trail. Brett and Chelsea went above and beyond helping my school group extract important GPS data from the rental unit. It's not open at all on the sides - there are slits on the sides to poke your arms out, but your arms would get pretty wet if you used poles.
